In February 2021, we successfully initiated our Leadership Academy, which now brings together student-athletes at our Harlem and Bronx locations four times a week. During these gatherings, students engage in academic enrichment activities twice a week and attend our Skills & Drills workouts.
Every Saturday for the past 3 years, we have hosted over 40 kids to receive free Basketball instruction from our coaches. We run two sessions from 5PM – 9PM with participants who are anywhere between the ages of 8 – 18, primarily from Harlem, Washington Heights and the Bronx.
We are proud to partner with the Youth Strategies Division provides programs for young people to reduce youth violence, prevent drug use, promote child safety, and improve relationships between police and young people, with a special emphasis on at-risk individuals
Every August, we offer a 4-week Summer Leadership Academy that serves about 90 youth from the surrounding community. We continue to offer Robotics, coding, Local Civics instruction, and fun trips. Each day of the program, participants receive training from our USBA-certified basketball coaches, who make the game fun and engaging. Our camps are a perfect representation of the ABCs of Riverside. They leave camp with a stronger sense of Academics, Basketball, and Community.
In conjunction with the 26th Precinct, we have participated in providing support in events such as their Back-to-School Drives, Turkey Drives, clothing, and toy giveaways.
