Staff

Tony Hargraves

Program Director– Coach Hargraves graduated from Our Savior Lutheran High School in the Bronx, where he was named to the All-city and All-state high school basketball teams. He later played four years of Division 1 basketball at Iona College, where he served as captain his senior year while also being named Associated Press All American in 1985. Hargraves also has played professionally and is a Riverside Hawks alumni, having played and coached with Riverside for over ten years.

Daniel Colon

Athletic Director– Daniel Colon has been part of the Riverside Hawks organization for over 15 years. Daniel is involved in many facets of the Hawks organization, mainly focusing on program administration, coaching and student-athlete education support.

Daniel is an experienced basketball coach. His coaching resume includes four years as a lead assistant and scout for his alma mater, The City College of New York. He is currently the freshman head coach at La Salle Academy. Daniel has also led multiple Riverside Hawks teams to district championships, and two division 1 AAU National Championships.

Zach Kuba

Athletics Coordinator– Coach Kuba coaches Boys teams at both the high school and middle school levels. Zach is responsible for assisting all of our coaches with scheduling, travel and other logistics along with organizing coaching orientation/forums. Coach Kuba also coordinates group and private training sessions.

Zach comes to the Riverside Hawks programs with a diverse basketball background. Coach Kuba has spent time in player development and video coordinator roles on the coaching staffs of IMG Basketball Academy, UCLA University of the Pacific and The Hoop Group. He is currently the boys varsity coach at the Hackley in Tarrytown, NY. Coach Kuba has spent the 4 prior seasons as the head boys JV coach at Poly Prep.

John Hawthorne

Player Development Trainer– John Hawthorne is the top professional trainer within the HARDWORK 24/7 Inc. The brand is designed to further build the bridge between athletes and trainers for business, organizations, and individual purpose. John has worked with the likes of Kemba Walker, CJ Watson, Smush Parker, Josh Selby, Scott Machado, and others.

Our methodology focuses on the development of athletes and teams using highly skilled cross techniques that develop high motor skills and train basketball ‘proprioception,’ the brain’s ability to sense the body’s spatial positioning relative to the basketball and court.”

Kevin Steward

Associate Program Director-Kevin began work with the Hawks last summer as an intern for the program. He provided assistance in data collection, coordinating our NYC Academic Elite Showcase, and creating various reports to improve future operations. Upon graduation from the University of Michigan, he now has joined the Hawks as the Associate Program Director.

Michella McCreesh

Program & Development Coordinator– Michella McCreesh has been a part of the Riverside Hawks organization since September 2012 in various volunteer roles, officially joining the staff in early 2017. Her responsibilities include administration, strategic direction, and planning of the program. Additionally, Michella has been a legal assistant for over 15 years at top law firms in NYC.

Ming Augustine

Program Operations Coordinator– Ming Augustine, our newest staff member, is a tenured and experienced volunteer and administrator of charitable organizations. Ming is responsible for the financial operations and daily administration of the Hawks organization.
